BIG FUTURES

Part of our Young Adult Mentoring (YAM) initiative, in our Big Futures program, young adults, ages 18 to 24 maintain a relationship with their Big even after high school graduation.

BIGS WITH BADGES

Bigs with Badges is the first national initiative aimed at recruiting local law enforcement to mentor youth in their local community. Built on a foundation of trust, these relationships help children to develop into confident adults with greater understanding of, and respect for those wearing a uniform and their role in keeping our communities safe.

COMMUNITY BASED MENTORING

Community-Based Mentoring is the organization’s flagship program. The program matches youth ages 5 to 18, with adult volunteer mentors. Spending one-on-one time in the local community is primarily how these relationships develop. Each match is unique and creates a schedule that works for them.

MENTOR U

Part of our Young Adult Mentoring (YAM), Mentor U is a proven, technology-enriched mentoring program for high school students. Spending one-to-one time during school lunches and at quarterly events, Bigs provide guidance, helping mentees graduate, and experience post-secondary opportunities.

PROJECT REACH

A critical engagement and retention strategy, Project REACH provides structured activities and events for matches and families in five critical youth development areas: Recreation, Education, Arts and Culture, Civic Engagement, and Health and Fitness.

SCHOOL BASED MENTORING

In our School-Based Mentoring Program, students ages 5 to 18 meet with volunteer mentors weekly during or after the school day at one of our partner school locations. Through the support of their mentors, children develop positive attitudes toward school, achieve higher grades, become more confident, and improve relationships with adults and peers.

SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL LEARNING

In our site-based programs, we partner with mentors, schools, healthcare providers, and youth and family services to impact healthy development of young people. This initiative uses the SSIS Assessment and Intervention To Improve Children’s Social Emotional Health curriculum and is delivered in 1:1 and 1:3 mentoring relationships.
