We are excited to announce that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sheboygan County has and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Manitowoc County have merged to become Big Brothers Big Sisters WI Shoreline. This new partnership is poised for inspirational growth, greater efficiency, and the promise of a bigger future for children living throughout both counties.
Why? The simple answer is that together, we can serve more children with higher quality mentoring programs. Together, we form a stronger, more sustainable agency. This means:
● New, expanded, and innovative programming including Bigs with Badges and MentorU. NOTE FROM TOM: are there pages you can link to or other ways to expand on what these two programs mean? Or can you tell people to follow us on Facebook or sign up for emails to learn more about these programs when they’re announced?
● Reduced administrative costs so more funding is available to create Big-Little matches.
● Increased fund development opportunities and financial stability, so donor dollars have even more direct impact in serving Wisconsin’s children, and and supporting our long-term objective of serving all youth in need.
● Increased relevance by expanding community collaborations with schools, community-based organizations, and corporations serving both counties.
● Access to a larger media market, allowing for easier recruitment of volunteer Bigs and families in need, more efficient marketing, and greater long-term brand awareness.
● And a healthy goal to serve at least 425 youth this year, a 42% increase!
NOTE FROM TOM: I think this last section as written was duplicative of the top section. Instead, how about adding a few sentences on what isn’t changing? Both offices are remaining open, correct? Will readers of this (say parents, or teachers) have the same points of contact? Finally, do you want to offer people a way of asking questions directly (e.g. via email?)
